Covington Looking to Close out the Northwest Swing Strong and Carry Momentum into Knoxville
CG Motorsports- Glenpool, Ok. (July 21, 2016) Matt Covington and the team are aiming to finish the northwest swing strong and build some momentum before rolling into Iowa in a few weeks for the 360 and 410 Nationals..
Covington has experienced up and down results so far this Western Swing. But with a new crew member and new ideas, Covington hopes to rebuild the consistency he opened the 2016 season with.
“We’ve been better as of late,” stated Matt. “We made some adjustments to our team and brought Tyler Tessemaker on board a couple of weeks ago. Me and Tyler are still adjusting to each other’s style, but I am impressed and very confident in the knowledge and skills Tyler has demonstrated so far. Last weekend at Billings we were 4th quick in qualifying but a bit off speed-wise in the feature. The week before though, at Gallatin with the ASCS National Tour, we were in tune and had two solid podiums, finishing 3rd both nights. We have Black Hills this weekend and then go to Park Jefferson along with Badlands the next. I look forward to progressing as a team with Tyler and hopefully regaining the consistency we had in the beginning of the year. Hopefully we can roll into Knoxville in August coming off strong finishes and with the motivation and confidence to perform to the best of our abilities during the Knoxville 360 and 410 Nationals. That’s the game plan at least, we will see what happens.”
