Edwards Leads Lone Star foes into Cowtown!
Cody Morris, Tulsa, Oklahoma (4-30-2012) - The Oil Medics ASCS Lone Star Region returns to action this Saturday night for the third stop of a 2012 campaign featuring 14 events.
Known for dicey racing on the action packed, high banked, ¼ mile bullring; this Saturday’s one night stand will see the first of two 2012 ASCS Lone Star visits to the Kennedale, Texas dirt oval. The second of the 2012 pair will field a regional showdown with the American Bank of Oklahoma ASCS Sooner Region.
On the strength of runner up finishes in the first two 2012 Lone Star events, Mesquite, Texas upstart Martin Edwards enters the Cowtown event with a 12 point advantage over defending Oil Medics ASCS Lone Star Champion Matt Covington.
Edwards nabbed Hard Charger in both of runner up efforts, while Glenpool, Oklahoma’s Covington charged to a Devil’s Bowl victory after an uncharacteristic mishap while leading allowed Knoxville, Iowa’s current ASCS National Tour point leader Wayne Johnson to take a mid race lead en route to victrory in season opening action at Lone Star Speedway.
Saturday’s shootout at Cowtown begins at 7pm with pit gates opening at 4pm, followed by grandstand gates opening at 5pm.
