Matt Covington's ASCS Speedweeks I-30
After a short trip down I-30, the Covington Motorsports team was ready to take on I-30 Speedway for night #2 of the ASCS Speedweeks. With a decent draw Matt would start inside rown #2 for the heat. What looked to be a promising night quickly took a turn for the worse. On lap two of the heat, with the track being heavy and the car too much on the snug side, Matt took a wild ride off of the exit of turn #4. Matt would excape the flip without any injuries but the car would not be so lucky. With the help of many including Kevin and Terry with the Factor One gang, the car was able to be patched together to tag the back of the B Main. Starting scatch on the field Matt gave it his all with a wounded race car and was able to drive up to 4th. This effort however would be one spot shy of the 3rd and final transfer for the A Main.
Covington Motorsports will regroup and make repairs to have the car ready for the next ASCS National Speedweeks race at Creek County Speedway for round #3.Stay in tune with Matt through the team website, www.mattcovington95.com and a very special thanks goes out to T&L Foundry, C.G.
